Catching up with our Friends
The first box in the Cellar d’Or monthly wine club is a celebration of friends! Each of these wines is from some of our most loved producers. Those familiar with Mummy Wine Club may already know these winemakers, but there’s no better way to deepen your wine knowledge than to get to know the full range of what producers are capable of.
Le Roc’ Ambulle is a fun sparkling rosé from the same producer that makes the campfire classic, Le Roc, but this one is made in the methode ancestrale! It is also made from the same indigenous grape, Negrette, but in a fun sparkling rosé version. Perfect for summer apéro.
From the same multi-generation Riojan family that makes the seductively rich and spicy Mi Lugar, which just won a gold medal in the Decanter Awards this week– we’re lucky to try their very miniscule release of white Rioja. It is on strict allocation with only 3, 126 bottles made! And we can learn all about it with Conrado Herrero in our monthly zoom tasting.
Elisabetta’s summer version of the unique Teroldego grape is a complete contrast in style from the Foradori red we tried last November. This is a lighter style red wine to be chilled and enjoyed with friends and great charcuterie.
The pioneering biodynamic winemaker, Judith Beck makes a sensational Pinot Blanc/Weissburgender, but now we will try her spectacular red made of native Austrian grapes that are normally very rich and intense, but her version is spicy yet light.
I hope you will enjoy getting to know these brilliant producers more through their contrasting second bottles and will remember them as leaders of their respective wine regions.
Join in on Tuesday July 13th to learn about the incredible small parcel white Rioja from Queirón as we reconnect with our friend Conrado Herrero. He will tell us about what has been developing in the family project over the past year within the new categories of Rioja.
